Absolutely splendid! Today's real wedding comes to us from Jess and Brett, who tied the knot in October 2009 out at Twelve Oaks Ranch in west Austin. From potting her own plants, to making her own table settings and paper goods, Jess (with the help of her maids), hand crafted just about all the details of the wedding herself. Everything turned out absolutely brilliant.

All the images were shot by the incredibly talented team over at Swell Photography, and beautifully capture the couple's combination of simple elegance and mod sophistication. This totally works!

Perfect details make this wedding forever lovely.

The yellow hairband on the bride is precious! I may do something similar since our wedding is in the summer. Beautiful couple.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. Really dig the idea of having cupcakes instead of a wedding cake.
ReplyDeleteLove that dress!
ReplyDeletedo you all know when the best time to have a wedding in the hill country that is more during the spring and summer before it gets too hot? I think May gets too rainy
ReplyDeleteit was all really gorgeous. and i don't think the photos do it justice for how nice everything looked. which is saying a lot because they're beautiful!

Thanks for the sweet comments guys! Kimberly, to answer your question, I was told October was a fairly safe weather-proof month to get married in, but it poured during the entire weekend, (my wedding was ACL weekend, so I wasn't the only event planner fooled!) We just made sure to have plans A, B & C ready in case of the rain.
ReplyDeleteThe place we held our wedding at (www.twelveoaksranch.com) doesn't even have weddings in the summer because it's so hot. Fall to mid-May would probably be a safe bet, temperature-wise.
