Hi Rachel,
To help save some money on our upcoming wedding, we've decided to try our hand at some DIY projects. We've handmade our favors, chair sashes, invitations and programs, but we're stuck on possible DIY centerpiece ideas. Do you have any budget-friendly suggestions for creating our own wedding centerpieces? Thanks, and I totally love your blog! - Amanda in North Austin
Hi Amanda,
First of all, congrats on your upcoming day and kudos to you for taking the initiative to go down the DIY route. You guys will save tons of money by rolling up your sleeves and doing some of the wedding elements yourself. Regarding DIY wedding centerpieces, I've been wanting to share this tissue paper table centerpiece design I found over at Once Wed that might be a perfect fit your your wedding table decor.

On a difficulty level of 1-10, I'd say this project is 3. The hardest part would be hot gluing each individual tissue flower to the branches. If you happen to mess up the arrangement, simply find a new branch. Easy-peasy, and totally free.

At about $7 each these are a great cost-saving alternative to fresh flowers. You can easily customize the theme with patterned or different colored tissue paper. The poppy flower look would be perfect for a Spring or Summer wedding celebration. To see the entire project tutorial, click here. Good luck and keep us posted!

So cute and simple. Love it!
