2011: Average Cost Of A Wedding

average cost of a wedding
According to a recent report by TheKnot.com, the average cost of a wedding is $26,984.

Nearly 19,000 U.S. couples married were surveyed capturing detailed feedback on wedding budget, style preferences, event characteristics and other key information related to the bridal demographic.

I've personally spoken to numerous wedding professionals in the Austin area and there definitely seems to be an increase in brides + grooms opening up their pocketbooks and flexing their budgets.

Are we finally starting to see the wedding industry rise out of its 3-year financial slump? We'll just have to wait and see.

  2. ^ Prices are going up with rings especially because the price of gold is going up (if people go that route).

My husband and I had a Colorado wedding at a historic hotel for around $11k, and that included everything - gifts, gown, jewelry, food, etc. We had a formal occasion for 30+ guests and it was everything we wanted. :)
