How to Compare Apples to Apples When Researching Different Wedding Venues?
This week, we reached out to Julie at Lakeway Resort and Spa and asked for her thoughts on what a bride should consider when comparing wedding venues. Lots of good info that many of our readers will find helpful. Here’s what she had to say:
When speaking to a first time bride, especially a young bride researching a venue, I like to start out with budget. We can create the wedding of your dreams but we need to know how much the bride has saved to create her special day. Once the budget is determined, I like to spend quality time with the bride or in some cases the mother-of-the-bride to establish what’s most important in a venue. Is it the view? Is it the location? Is the amenities? There is so much to consider when choosing the right venue.
If a bride is just beginning her venue research, I want to know why they are considering Lakeway Resort and Spa. Our resort is unique because it is situated on Lake Travis with views of the lake from our glass-enclosed Vistas Ballroom. Other venues offer beautiful views of the Texas Hill Country or are located to downtown Austin. Every venue is distinctive in its own way so I try figure out if our resort is the best fit for the bride and her vision of the ‘perfect wedding.’
If my best friend was getting married and there was no bias involved, I would recommend selecting a venue with a built-in Event Planner. Similar to the services I provide, I work with the Wedding Planners to take care of the details. There is so much that goes on during the days leading up to the ceremony and reception. Between the flowers, linens, DJ, F&B, it can be overwhelming to brides and families who choose to take a ‘hands-on’ approach. Trust me, the money you will spend on a good Wedding Planner and a venue with an Event Manager, will pay off when you have a stress-free wedding.
